Raise the Sails fundraiser

Join us in making a difference through our Raise the Sails Fundraiser! The Minneapolis Sailing Center is a pillar of the sailing and recreation community in the Twin Cities.

Our mission: Foster an inclusive, sustainable community and teach sailing to all.

Our fundraising goal: $20,000+ to support 2024 community outreach programming. Your generous contributions will help offset the cost of staffing and training for these initiatives.

Enjoy dinner by Pimento, a steel drum performance by Caribbean musician Pan D, and a silent auction.

We will offer sailboat rides and have games and fun activities for the whole family.

Silent Auction: Restaurant experiences, hotel and spa visits, cooking classes, fishing trips, wine tastings, artwork, and more! Our carefully curated selection of items caters to every taste and desire. Each bid contributes to our noble cause, so your participation truly matters!

Why Support Us:

The Minneapolis Sailing Center is in its 33rd year of being a pillar of community sailing in the Twin Cities. Our dedicated staff and facilities support operations and programming for over 500 members. Over 1,200 are welcomed onto the water every summer and learn to sail through us. Our community outreach programming has reached over 700 Twin Cities residents, ages six months to 90. With your support, we can continue to expand our programming. 

By participating in our fundraiser, you will:

  • Empower Lives: Sailing instills self-reliance, courage, and cooperation- skills that help build leaders adept at navigating a challenging and ever-changing world.

  • Foster Education: Our sailing classes cover more than sailing. Students learn about STEM, environmental awareness, and how to be good teammates and leaders.

  • Promote access to the outdoors: Together, we can improve access to the Twin Cities rich ecosystem of lakes and parks. We aim to keep costs low to encourage time spent learning and enjoying Bde Maka Ska.

  • Build a stronger community: Our main goal at MSC is to create and foster a welcoming environment to learn sailing. Whether you have never stepped foot on a boat or are a seasoned racer, there is a place for you here.
